the accessory wire is also called the ignition wire or turn on wire. For the head unit to power on, you need a ground (usually black on the cd player), a constant (usually yellow on the cd player), and an ignition wire or accessory wire (usually red on the cd player)... If you are having to hardwire it, then you just need to tap into any component that doesnt get powered until you turn the ignition. C5's have one by the passenger floor fusebox, others have tapped into the ignition wire itself, and others have tapped into their Air Conditioner wires (I know you arent asking about a C5, just trying to speak from experience). Just get a volt meter and find a wire that is dead when key is out, then shows a power jump when you turn the key. Check behind the dash where the radio wires are first because you might have one there already, I was just trying to prepare you in case there isnt one behind the dash as to where else you could try to find one.
Sorry for the crappy answer, other guys on here can probably paint you better picture.
The deck has a yellow wire (B+) which hooks up to one of two wires - either "radio switched" or "radio constant on" wires (I chose "switched")

you should've hooked that one up as "radio constant on"
and hook the red accessory wire to the "radio switched"

AHA! the good news is I used male/female connectors. I'll switch 'em around.
