Had the 45 for about 3 weeks before it got taken from the wife's car.
I did not even get a chance to really set it up before it was gone.
Someone knew what they were doing, they pulled it, without wrecking a thing. They went through the neighborhood on the same night and hit up about 6 cars with aftermarket systems that had the faces showing and ignored anything with a missing face.
Eclipse has CD security which prevents it from being played if it loses power, but it still gets taken, and if it doesn't work, it just gets tossed in the garbage. Kids, who don't know any better might try to send it in to get it fixed, in which case, if you have reported it stolen to Eclipse, they got 'em
I replaced it with an Alpine unit so I can pull the face off and take it with me.
From what little setup I had done, it was definitely sounding good, but at this point, I couldn't tell you if it was better than the Alpine replacement.
Have looked hard at this one and Alpine. According to audio forums, this one has more features that alot of them would not use so they went with the cheaper 45 series. I decided against Eclipse ONLY because you cannot remove the faceplate.
