I don't know how much different a 73 is from an 80 behind the rear seats..... a 1x8 with a little triming will nicely fit on top of the wheel wells still allowing the T's to fit back there.

I couldnt fit the speakers in stock location in the corners. I was thinking about installing them in the rear wall in back, but I think that the gas tank will be in the way, so that nixes that idea. Trying to figure out another layout so I may lay my ttops flat, but not much room. Thought about the storage compartments, but the battery is in the way. Any suggestions? Thanks.
I had sony xploid 6x9 in two seperate boxes before i got the full system. I the boxes up even with the top of the back "wall". They fit nice w/ a little space between them and the t-tops would have laid flat underneath them had it not been for my roll bar. I have a picture of them on here in my corvette fotos. Its hard to see but you get the idea. the roll bar takes up so d*** much space. It sucks.

I installed a Pioneer 1500 Mosfet 50. Had to cut my bezel to make it fit but it was worth the hassle. Rear Speakers are 6 X 9 240 watt Pioneers sitting in a custom (Homemade) speaker enclosure. My enclosure is about 3 3/4 thick and I still can get my T-Tops to lay flat. If you build your own speaker enclosure make sure it is sealed shut. Use 3/4 inch plywood...I caulked my entire enclosure after it was screwed together. Sounds a heck of a lot better than the stock speaker setup.

Cool! Are those truck style boxes? How deep is the base? How did you get them to stay up there? Thanks in advance.
