i am building a custom componet set for the doors on my C5, and i was wondering if 8" drivers can fit the doors with plates? i know Vurmvurm can make cnc plates and i have been contacted by him for making the plates. however i need to know the largest size i can go for the speakers to be tested so see if they will match with the tweeter/mids that i have picked out. they are the BOHLENDER GRAEBENER NEO8PDR PLANAR TRANSDUCER . anyoen have any clues on this one?
Thanks
Rob
i'm not sure of the depth myself, I know they are deep though. You will need to find some free air subs for this to work and plan on using sound deadener as those subs will rattle the door like... like... like a rattle?
Just curious though, why are you going with 8" speakers in the doors? are you not planning on running a seperate sub in the back?
Thanks for the info guys, i plan on using 8"midbass instead of a subwoofer. i would just like them to go as low as40hz flat. i have some but i wanna make sure they will fit before i tear into the door. i am using ribbon tweeter/midranges up on the pillars by the windshield......
when it is all said and done they will be able to handle about 250w rms with out even breaking a sweat.
I Put 8 Inch Comp Memphis No Plate Required A Little Mod To Doors And I Have Memphis 5.25 In Rear Memphis 400by 4 And Memphis 300 By 1 A 12inch Sub In The Hole Of My 99 Vert. Sound Is Like Your There. I Recomend 8inch In The Doors It Gives Great Preasents Aim The Tweets At The Driver.
