Need some input from the experienced here...... I have my system installed (Alpine 9855, CDT 6.5" fronts, stock Bose rear, 10" image dynamics sub and MTX 564 amp) but with the system turned on I got out of the car and while at the rear I noticed that my tail lights slightly dim and brighten with the music! I understand that a lot of power is being pulled causing this. How do I correct, if possible?
I'm a fan of MTX amps, but they are power hungry. What gauge wire do you have running to it. And where is your ground?
You should be running 4 gauge and grounding to the battery or frame. The seat bolt is not a good ground if you are using that. If that all checks out, you may want to think about upgrading the "big 3", there should be a link in the C5 Tech Tips section.
i had the same problem with my phoenix gold amp; well i my headlights would dim when the bass hit, when i installed my xtant amp (with 100 amp fuse) i upgraded to 4 gauge and haven't had any problems.
leolufse has a good point thoug about upgrading the big 3
