I purchased this yesterday at AL & Eds carstereo hoping that this would be a cheaper alternative to the soundgate adapter. I did everything by the intstructions which are limited and i even tapped the 12vdc ignition from fuse holder number 22. in a nut shell i have no bass at all. I checked the phases, all the wireing 6 times! i have the 3.5" working in the doors and the rear speakers but no luck on getting the subs to work at all. i used my volt meter and a 1 volt rca signal to try and find the right wires that would ingauge the input of the subwoofer amps in the door. bt still no luck, i supsect they are not getting the proper voltage to turn on the switch amp in the doors. nor does the input for the pac supply the input signal to the input of the bose amps in the doors. has anyone else run into this problem and have they gotten the bose subs to work with this adapter before? should i have just used the soundgate adapter?
I've got the soundgate GMCRV1 and don't like it. In fact, I'm on my second unit. The first unit had broken wires when I took it out of its packaging, so I returned it. The second unit worked fine for a couple of months, now its poping and cracking every time I hit a bump or do a sharp turn. So, I've ordered the PAC ROEM-VET1. I was told that it was a simple plug and play harness and that it kept the retained accessory power (RAP) that the factory unit had. I'll post my findings when I get my ROEM-VET1 harness.

I just received the PAC ROEM-VET1 adapter. How did you connect the speaker wires from the HU wiring harness to the PAC input wiring harness (cable A)? Cable A has two power leads per speaker (a low level lead and a high level lead). Are these power level leads or frequency response leads? I'm guessing they are power level leads, but I want some kind of confirmation before I hook it up to my head unit. What are the four set screws on the black box for? I'm guessing that they are for setting the gain for each of the four speaker channels. Would appreciate any info for this adapter.
Last time I used a OEM1 converter, one of the wires was mis-labeled. I think it was the one that controls the amp turn on switch. From memory, the amps would kick on if the receiver was in FM mode, but not CD. If thats the case, you need to swap the blue/white wire (power antenna) with the blue wire instead. Good luck.
Well, I finally got thru to PAC user support. The speaker wires with the red stripes are for low power level head units (do not use). The speaker wires without any stripes are for high power level head units. The four set screws do indeed control the gain for each of the four speaker channels, max ccw is zero gain, max cw doubles the gain. The blue wire with the white stripe does trigger the amp.
i still have no subs running from the pac module, i am switching to the soundgate gmcrv1 tomorrow to see if it is any better and hopefully i will have subs in my doors again
Well, I just installed the ROEM-VET1 to my AVIC-N1 HU. No sub woofers. I called PAC technical support. They said that the blue/white striped wire needed to be hooked up in order to power the amps for the sub woofers. I told them that the AVIC-N1 had no such wire to connect to the ROEM-VET1. They recommended that I connect the blue/white striped wire to the red accessory power wire. I'll try that tomorrow. Also, no RAP function. PAC tech support said that the RAP function is not supported by the ROEM-VET1. I thought that this adapter was advertised as being able to support the RAP function.
i just did that and it worked! the directions on the pac module are about useless. there is nothing in there at all about that needing to be connected in order to provide power for the subs.
