In Dash CD Problem
My in dash CD player has stopped working. I get a readout of Err when I try to play a CD now. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a quick fix I should try before going back to the dealer? Any advice would be appreciated. The car is 2000 TR Coupe 6sp w/18k miles.

It could be a number of things. If your player is loading the disk perhaps you have a bad CD or a dirty lens or the player. I'd try a few different disks first, then a lens cleaner.
I wouldn't go back to the dealer for this unless you're covered under an extended waranty. If the CD player is fried it's pretty easy to swap it out.

Thanks JimNy....I guess my next step will be to try a lens cleaner. I've looked at replacements at Corvette Radio and other websites and it looks as if that will run me from $300 - $450, depending upon where you get it. For that type money it may be a better option to look at something different. In reading a lot of posts about the Bose system I don't get the warm and fuzzies. Maybe someone can give me a class act stereo installer's number in the Atlanta area.

Well, the lens cleaner did not work...the CD player just spit it out also and gave me the Err message. I guess it is toast. I've gotten several good ideas by reading completely through this forum and will probably seek out an installer for a new system. Thanks for the replies here and in the tech area where I originally posted by mistake.
