Custom Dash w/screen update: also need some advice..

I started this project 3 months ago and finally I am in the final stages. Ive been soo busy i haven't drove or touched my car in over2 1/2 months till today. anywayz... I used bondo to custom fab my center consule to fit my Kenwood dvd/navi 6.5 screen... Sanded everything down but I am having a hard time with the bondo in some spots, its pitting
and I cant seem to sand it perfectly smooth. Any advice on how to fix this. I used a texture coating to give it OEM feel and look. I was hoping that the coating would hide/fill in any imperfections of the bondo... but no luck
these pics are hard to see what im talking about but I will give it a shot.. sorry for them being so big. These pics are before and after the texture coating. I have not painted it yet.For most people the dash is fine but for me its not.. Im way **** about it

Thanks guys
Wayne

Hi there --
Well u r using the wrong matl's --
Bondo doesnt stick to plastic and will usually fall off / chip / crack ..
You need to use stuff caled SMC panel adhesive - its designed for plastics - harder than Bondo to sand -- but better -
as a scim coat use Rage Gold Xtreme. less pitting .
Looks good otherwise

Your mix of bondo looks a little off. Some spots are light and some very dark. The dark spot look like you have too much hardner in the mix or not a through blend of the two parts. If it is too much hardner that can cause problems...it makes the filler brittle.
Overall your project looks very good. I think with the correct materials you will have something that is as solid as it is attractive.

... What if i put 3M called Automix over my exisiting bondo for the time being? Will it cure my pitting problem? I just want all the pits gone so when i go to texture and paint i dont have little marks. If and when the bondo comes off ill have redo it using the correct materials next time
