Hi as a new united kingdom owner I (1985 vette in light metallic blue) was wondering in anyone could give me any info on replacing the standard Delco/Bose stereo. The cassette deck is non functioing but radio and all speakers are okay. Obviously I am after trying ti fit a standard Din e size unit and was wondering how much aggro this will be. I have not removed the existing stereo yet as i have already found out enough info to understand it is no straight swop due to the 6 speaker set up complete with amps so i am currentley stuck with listening to the radio and the sound of the engine (no bad thing though). I have a very good in dash Kenwood cd unit that i would like to fit and am kind of hoping that someone across the pond does something nice and simple like a wiring loom adapter and a dash panel to take the smaller stereo. Any advice would be greatley appreciated as i dont want to spend a fortune just replacing the stereo as i would much rather spend my hard earned on cash on things to make it go even bettter
Thanks for the adviced only just got computer fixed to be able to check on the forum will order one of these adaptors and try to think of ways to overcome amp problem
with some decent electonic knowledge and a multimeter you should be able to easily overcome the amp/antenna problem, it has somethign to do with the amp turn on and power antenna wires in your harness... sry i cant offer more when I did a buddys C4 we ripped everything out
