I installed my new Eclipse AVN 5435 this weekend. I will post more pics after installing ABS plastic filler plates on the sides.

I have read to the contrary, but you CANNOT install this head unit without cutting the dash. The physical dimensions of the AVN-5435 are bigger than the stock opening. If you have any questions, ask now. I spent all weekend on this and it is fresh in my head.
I replaced the BOSE system with Alpine and Diamond Audio components.
I tried to use a PAC OEM-2. I asked for a PAC ROEM-VET1, the install shop assured me the OEM-2 would work and that their supplier said not to use the VET1. It didn't work. I even called PAC tech support trying to make it work. The tech said they were indeed different, more so than just not having a plug and play harness. I could have killed somebody. I started over and used a generic GM adapter, bought 2 sets of 6.5" component speakers and went back to work. Now I need to go to work on the bass without breaking the bank.

looks great, how do you like it? i've been waiting for the avn 5495 to come out since january and it keeps getting pushed back. i'm wondering if it's even worth the wait but i really want the harddrive.
Here are some more pics. I cut black ABS plastic strips to fill in the sides. Not sure if I am happy with it yet. I may have to bread down and custom mold it.
