You can do it and be fine. I have my winter Jimmy 4x4 set up that way. You just want to be sure the speakers are as close together as you can get them, esp the tweets. If they are too far apart (unequal length to your ears) the same frequencies will be arriving to your ears at different times. True, it maybe only milliseconds but judges will notice in competion.
In sound quality competion vehicles, you only see one set of componet (2 or 3 way) speakers in the car. Some use an extra set of tweeters up high but they are running 10KHz and up. Plus, they are attenuated.
In my C5, I run two identical sets of componets up front. I did it for the extra volume needed to keep up with the three 12" subs. By keeping the tweeters close together (and the mids as close as I could get them) I believe it sounds good. Would I try and compete in professional SQ circuit with the vette, absoultey NOT.

This is my fear. I am running two 10w6v2 subs on a 1000/1. My components are Focal 165K2Ps and they will be running off of a 300/2. Do I need more up front?
Only your ears will determine if you need a second set. I would still say no. My two sets are way louder than I should ever listen to music at Four Infinity Perfect tweeters can be downright painful. They are nice for car stereo demos and car shows though.
Alright, I'll just go with what I have right now, the Focals. Will I be fine placing the tweets right above the 6.5 on the same mounting plate or should I put one in each pillar?
In the doors, next to the mid.
You can always add ambience tweeters at a later date if you think it is needed. There is a thread on "tweeters in the A pillars" that kind of covers the added tweets. I'm thinking about selling my award winning Eagle Talon TsiAWD just so I can afford upgrades to my Vette including Lambo doors, fiberglass and tweets the A-pillars, and more HP
I ran just stock alpine 4x6 upfront with 6x9 in the rear using an alpine amp that isn't turned up even half and the music is plenty loud and clear enough to play over the 2 12" subs in back
