I finally finished the box. I got the base of the box from subthump and I was not happy with the 5/8" MDF so I used a couple of layers of glass on the inside for extra strength. I think it came out great. It hits hard when you want it to and is relatively precise at sane levels as well. I am running it off a 500/1 with a 300/2 powering some Diamond Audio Hex's in the doors. I used the grill you see since I have a flameball and it was one of the few that would work with the long throw of the W7. Yes its an AudioBling grill but I carefully dremmeled the logo out... so mere mortals won't know from wence it came. Anyhow here are the pics, not as ambitious/trick some I have seen here (cajundude & eatrice) but I did this thing in a tiny garage with limited tools.

There are not too many grill options out there for speakers with this kind of xmax. I guess since I made a cover for the xovers I could have gone with something else since I already had the depth but then I did not want a stealthy look. The other factor is that I only have a few tools so my options on box construction where limited. Anyhow it sounds just like I wanted and I don't have any weird rattles or ground loop whining.
I was thinking about getting the same speakers, how do they sound?
This might be the route I go eventually.
I am happy with the diamonds. I am still dialing in my x-over settings, right now they are a little bright for my tastes so I am thinking about setting it at -2db for the tweets. I just have not had a chance to get back there and pop the covers on the crossovers to do it. Then again I went with the aluminum tweets so it could just be the nature of the beast.
I had a set of Focal PolyKevlars on my last car and I think they had better mid bass. Then again they cost more and it was also 2 years ago so this is no side by side comparison.
