Last night on my way home, I had the music turned up a little more than usual, and twice the system cut out. The whole thing, highs, lows, everything lowered, then came back.
What are the things I should check? Also, Eatrice, I still never did that big 3 or whatever you call it. I want to though. Can you give me some info on it again?
The only times I've had things cut out was either something was loose behind the HU, I blew a fuse or blew the speakers, I don't know what your problem is but my guess is it sounds like a power issue and the system is either running out it, or guarding itself from too much
What are the specs on the stereo? Type of Head Unit, Amps, Subwoofers, and other speakers. Specs on the woofers ( 2, 4 , 8 ohm and how are they connected to the amp? Bridged or stereo)
1. Everything cuts out in together? Volume wise? It's not just the subwoofers?
2. It just lowers in volume, not cut completly out? For how long?
3.Where are your amps grounded?
4. How is your amp remote wire hooked up? To the radio or ignition switched?
5. Does your head unit flicker when it cuts out?

what it seems to be happening is the amps are shutting on and off. the actual music never cuts out, but lowers so much, you can hardly hear it. I have to check the fuses. thanks kale for that. I want to do that anyway.
