My amp whine post.
I've had amp whine since installing my ARC 2100 in my 92x. It was silent in my other cars.
Here's the bizzarre thing. It happens with the face plate off.
It happens with the RCAs disconnected.
I don't get it.

So you unplug the RCA cables going into the amplifier and you still get rpm whine in your speakers? (Not unplugged from the head unit but at the amp.)

Yep.
If i park the car for more than a few seconds, it goes away until I drive it agian, too.
But it very distinctlysounds like its coming from the left spekaers.
It could be a vacuum leak I caused by running the 8 gauge through the wall in the car. There really is no room in that bay.
But since it stops when its parked, i cant lift the hood and listen. Hmn.
Does it in neutral, but stops a few seconds after parking.

Double check all grounds including that from your deck is all that comes to my mind. Good luck noise gremlins suck. Also generally speaking the shorter the length of your ground cables the better in my experience. (IE less than 16-18")

Does it do it with the engine off? or with the alternator unplugged and engine running? Does the whine frequency directly correspond with engine rpm?

Does it with the speaker wires UNHOOKED from the amps.
Turns out that I forgot what happens when the power wire is too near a crossover.
It's all good now.
