Default AVIC Hideaway Mount HELP!

Hi Guys and Gals

My AVIC N2 will arrive this Fri and I'm very excited.

I have relocated my A/C climate controls to the ashtray area, leaving alots of room for the display unit.

My problem is the hideaway mounting.

I would like to mount it in the huge space behind/under the glovebox. Right above the pass floor lamp. But it doesn't have any supports to mount to, nothing easy or obvious to me. Any suggestions? Pics would really help. thanks

PHIL

Mine is in that same spot. It sits ontop of the large wire bundle that runs perpendicular to the glove box. It seems fine as it is a fairly tight fit. Nothing else is holding it in place.

So your hide away unit is (I assume tie strapped) to the large wire bundle?

Did the same but used some large tie wraps to the dash frame.

I was in and out of that area so much I stopped the tie wraps. When the panel is put back in place, it doesn't move around. (call me lazy!) One of these days I'll strap it down again.

I have a question though for anyone with an N1....... My AM radio is inop. FM is fine. Antenna is hooked up. Have tried to reset with no luck. Any thoughts?

I actually mounted mine inside the glove box.

It has to sit level and square. There are shoulders in there that do the job. I never used the glovebox for anything anyway

Sorry it took so long.

The box just sits on the shoulders. Not particularly pretty but when the glovebox is closed it doesn't move and it sits flat and square which is what's needed.
