Any of you not happy with your Valentine One purchase and performance of the V-1? I hear lots of falses and the arrows go crazy.

Only if you drive near shopping centers with it set to max sensitivity on X Band as any of them will. Great unit. I don't know of any others that are upgradable either.

I fricking LOVE mine. Read the manual, there is a way to turn off X band, which is the source of most false alarms and virtually never used by cops.

The V1 is the only way to go, They all have some false readings, But I have been saved many times thanks to the arrows.

I have had my current V1 for over 6 years now, best performance upgrade I have ever done and it has saved me thousands of dollars.

Default V1

False alarms are no worse w/my v1 than they were w/the 8500 x50 I had.I love those arrows and they have saved my butt several times and the unit has more than paid for itself.I should probably read the book to see what the different letters mean that pop up every now and then....

X-band is going out of style but some very modern departments in my area still use a few, use caution about deactivating X-band on any detector!

I'd rather have a few falses and get more positives sooner than another detector personally. Love my V1.

I have it set to Logic and it still goes off for many automatic door sensors but I still can't drive without it. The arrows and bogey number make a huge difference. I will look into the settings for turning off Ka but I might feel paranoid that I'll be missing something. Do you guys trust it without Ka?

It is, in my opinion, the best radar detector out there. I bought both the V1 and the Passport 8500 at the same time. They both have a 30 day money back guarantee. I was driving across the state of Florida twice a week for 4 months. I ran both side by side on my windshield. The V1 picked up the signal ahead of the 8500, all the time. The V1 had more false alarms, but I learned how to recognize them very quickly. The arrows are something I could never be without again. The 8500 was sent back.
