Default Door Sub depth on the C6....

Anyone know the mounting depth of a sub you could put in the C6?

Most eights are about 4 inches deep. JL released a new sub this year the W1v2, it's 4.4 " deep and it's a 10. Thought this might be a great addition if it will fit.

the stock 8" is about 2" deep but I'm pretty sure the JL sub will fit. 150 watts per channel amp would be perfect for them. You will need to spend some $ on sound deadning or you will have rattles in the door.
Also, what kind of mid/tweeter combo are you going with and were are you putting them?

I thought the stocker was a 10" Maybe I can fit it with a trim ring.

Sitting around my garage I have a set of JL components, that I was planning on putting in the rear speaker panels, then putting a set of smaller 3.25's up front. I also have two 10W6v2's sitting here that I could use, a kicker 1200.1, and a rockford 600a4 amp for the mids/tweets.

Probably will go with the AvicD1 HU.

If I don't do the 10s in the door, I will just use my current 10s and put my components up front, and another set of full range speakers in the rear.

There is 3.25" of depth in the C6 door with the window down. There is plenty of room between the grill and door. You could build a 1" spacer to gain the extra depth you need.

I'm running an 8" component set in the doors. 8" woofers and 2" tweets in the stock location.

What set are you using and how are you liking the sound so far?

I'm debating what to do, I'd like to NOT have a box in the rear if I don't have to. Just makes it look so clean without it. I could mount the subs easily, it's hiding the amps I'm worried about if I mount the subs behind the seat.

I'm running DLS Iriduium 8.2 components.

I thought about running subs in the doors, but the transition between an 8" or 10" sub and a 3.25" speaker is not going to be smooth. There will be virtually no midbass and very weak midrange.

I'm running these comps down to 52 hZ and they sound great. I ran w/out a sub for about a year, but just began work on a new box.
