speaker test

I am trying to find out if I have a bad door speaker. Does the speaker have a sererate amp? I have a low voltage reading at the speaker for what ever that's worth..thanks

What year car are we talking about... depending there is probally an amp, and ac voltage will fluctuate with the volume of the music

thanks for the quick resoponse. I removed the speaker but did not remove any wires. I could not tell what was behind them

If it says Bose system, then each speaker has a seperate amp. The rear ones are easy to get to. The door speakers are quite difficult, but doable. Best way to find out is move the speaker part to the rear and see if it works. You can get a used amp on eBay for a decent price.
