expensive...
PAC makes an adapter for the C6 that retains rap and warning chimes. Its only about $60. I'd give them a call to see what they have for the C5. Pacific Audio Corporation.
There are several companies that make gizmos that are supposed to recreate the RAP function with aftermarket HU's. PAC, Soundgate were the only ones I had heard of until I went looking for one locally. I bought one made by a company called Blitz...something-or-other (in a yellow box), but it didn't work in my car so I took it back (which is the reason why I wanted to buy it locally).
A few days ago I read in a post about the Accessory Valet by Top Down Tech. It costs $100, but I figured since my Window Valet works so good, they probably figured out how to do RAP properly also. I ordered one, and it should get here tomorrow or Monday at the latest. I'll post my opinion about how it works after I get it installed.
Thanks for the input..I can get one local for around $70..It does not list the C5 so I am unsure if it would work..What looked good was a single interface to solve both the bose interface and the rap issue...
When I put my system in last June I used an older interface and it just does not have the base it should on the door speakers and no way to ajust it as with the soundgate. If you use two interface mods you will still be in the $120 to $150 area.
just checking my options before I pull things apart..
