C5 Speaker Plates... Anyone making them???
I've been looking to change out the factory Bose system in my '98 coupe and saw some people had replaced their factory speakers using speaker plates. I don't know anyone is making them or knows where to purchase them but any information on getting some would be much appreciated. Thanks for the help guys!

I tried to PM vrumvrum but it said he has chosen to not receive PMs. Do you know if he is still making them and if he is how to get a hold of him? If not, how hard was it to make your own and how good is the sound quality with ½” wood?

faceplates
I just got my faceplate from vrumvrum.... it looks great!
I will post pics when I complete the new HU install.
vrum is great to deal with so if anyone is thinking of removing the Bose unit and putting in a aftermarket... check hs work out.

I just built, from 5/8" Particle Board, some plates traced from the stock plates, for 1 5.25", 1 6.5" and a tweeter, the crossover placed in the door, tight fit but no interference for the window or the grill on the door. It is easy to do...took about 1 hour for each side, with wiring.

just a heads up, if the x-over is in the door you may want to think about sealing them up, a lot of moisture sneaks back there. i bet even zip lock bag (with hot glue around the area where the wires come out) would do the trick.
