Default bose question

I recently had a Kenwood KDC-X790 installed in my 02, Z06. The shop told me they didn't need the BOSE interface. There is absolutely NO bass to the system. Zip, Zero, Zilch. Are the factory speakers that bad, or could it have something to do with the interface? Thanks in advance.

See if your 8" mids are playing in your doors. They probably are not. Where did you have it done? Are your rear speakers on?

They might have just wired up the 3.5" twiddlers in the doors and not wired in the 8's which have their own individual amps. Hopefully they plugged in the rear speakers as well.

Regardless from what I know and others can chime in with firsthand experience I do not believe you can have all 6 speakers working from an aftermarket deck without some sort of adaptor or replacement speakers.

I forgot to mention... I just bought the car, and the factory headunit didn't work, so I have nothing to compare to.

Honestly odds are the factory subs arent playin either because they are nonexistent or blown or because they didnt use the bose adapter you need in order for the subs to work

i've never heard of anyone getting the subs to work with out a bose interface. I doubt they are blown because you'd hear horrible distortion, they could be nonexistant but before you tear open the doors hook up the bose interface since you're going to need it anyways.

Thanks for the info guys... stereos arent new to me... but Bose is! Step 1, go kick the sh*t out of an audio store installer for being an idiot. Step 2, kick the sh*t out of myself for not researching first, Step 3, buy interface and fix it.
