Model: Z06

Just ordered the following:

Head unit: Kenwood Excelon KDC-X794
Other: Pac Audio ROEM-VET1, GM Antenna adapter, Blank faceplate
Cost: $240

want to eventually replace the speakers but i will get there in time. For now i just REALLY want ipod integration and given the radio was almost the same price as the Pac unit it made no sense to invest in the stock HU.

Year: 2008
Model: Coupe

Head Unit: Pioneer Avic Z120BT w/usb & ipod cables, and rear view camera

Processor: JBL MS8 w/receiver installed in glove box (RF, not IR, so works with door closed)

Front Stage: Seas Lotus Reference 8" midbass (doors) & RT27F tweeters (A-pillars)

Rear speakers: stock

Amps: Two Exile Audio Xi 800.4's

Subwoofer: Cerwin Vega Smax12 ultra thin 12" subwoofer (to retain cargo space and rear roof storage)

Sound deadening: not sure of the material/brand - ask Bing! But I can tell you that the doors feel and close very thick and solid, like mercedes doors. Can't hear a peep outside.

Wires: ask Bing

Box: custom by Bing

System Cost: more than I want to admit :-D

Install Cost: worth every penny

I'm just now breaking the system in (installed by Bing from SimplicityinSound).

Basically...... it rocks!

One note, there is raised CORVETTE lettering on the front of the box in the back, it's just not showing in the pics here.

Here are links to the rest of the pix and description of the install (from start to finish) from Bing:

Do all your OEM controls still function, like Blue-tooth from teh steering wheel, all otehr ?

What doesn't work - HUD w/ nav ?

I'm about to re-think the whole stereo / nav revamp on my 2010 and don't really want to go back-wards on features I alreay have.

You need to start a new thread with questions like this

If you buy the right interface adapters you don't loose much.

Steering wheel buttons can be used if you get a HU that can use an adapter, but bluetooth buttons become more radio control buttons, they can't be used for BT.

HUD integration is lost, but you won't miss it if you get a HU with a sexy voice
