though i havn't done this yet, the best way to wire it would be to tap the reverse light wire, put a diode in line and then wire that to the camera. then get a toggle switch and tap one of the acc power wires and then wire that to the same place you wire the wire from the reverse light. this will let you turn on the camera at a flip of the switch and also have it turn on automatically when you back up.
edit: i woops...this is the best way for mysetup since my monitor switches to the camera source automatically when it senses an input signal. If you dont have auto-on then it's probably best to wire it from an acc line

Did you guys wire your camera to only come on while in reverse or on all the time.

I have mine wired so it comes on when I put the car in reverse, but I can also que it to come on by pushing the map button twice on my AVIC-D1 and then touching the "Rear View" icon. It's handy because you can see your blind spots when changing lanes. I wired mine to be on anytime my ignition switch is on. Hope this helps...
