IMO Infinity Perfect components are about the closest that I have heard. MB's are usually pretty bright in the top end, some would say harsh. Buy what you like bro

Looks like the Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 are in the sme price range too. I have used Infinifty speakers in the past but it has been a long time ago.
I just bought the Kappa Perfect 6.1 component system and will be installing it this weekend. I'm running it with Kappa 4x6 plate speakers in the front and 3 perfect 10.1's. I had to get all Perfect Kappas, the frequency curve was just too sexy. I'll letcha know!
OK, both 8" subs are now installed. I must say that a pair of 8" subs in the rear holes are more than enough sub range for me. It does not take much adjustment to make them vibrate the cabin too much.
Anyway, my Infiniti's 6.5's are several years old and it sounds like I have ample HIGH END but a lacking mid range.
I will find a local stereo shop or two and listen to various brands.
I would put the MB's and the Focal's in a whole other class than those mentioned above. I have MB's in the SS and Focal's in the Z. My preference is the MB's. Of couse, all this is just my opinion.
Alpine type R components are about the best 6.5 component out there for around $ 175. Right behind them is the Pioneer 6x8 3 way TS-6880R for about $ 125. I just put 6 of the Pioneers in my wifes Excursion with a Pioneer 600 w amp (not the series at the chain stores) and they rock. Yes I've also had MB, Fosgate, Infinity and Polk, but dont pay for a name, check these out.
