I couldn't fine one whne I did mine so I ended up hooking mine up to the backup light lead. I wish I would have ran a switched power lead instead. Now the camera only comes on when in reverse.
You have to run the RCA wire anyway so I'd run a new lead.

The camera I got is wireless so I dont need the A/V lead.
I ran a wire for a fog light so I have the route sorted. I think I may try the battery first and see how long it lasts
Answered that question. The battery lasted 24 hours
Guess the next job is to run a hot wire back there.
When I installed my D1 I ran the extra switched power wire from the pass floorboard fusebox back to the rear for a Sirius tuner that's mounted in the right-hand cubby. I was pretty easy to run it along the passenger side frame rail, up behind the speaker and around to the rear of the car.
I just bought a mini camera to hook up to my Pioneer AVIC system.
I'm about to install it but I have a couple of questions.
Is there a switched power supply at the rear? The only sources I can think are only on when in use (back up lights, lighting circuits)
Whats the drain on a battery? I can't imagine the camera itself use much power. What about the transmitter?
Any thoughts?
Dee Gee,
I don't suppose your convertible has the factory CD changer in the trunk. I tapped into the switched power and ground leads from my CD changer when I installed my camera. Just a thought.
