I just got done putting in a Alpine 9855 HU, iPod box and Sirius box in my vette. Everything is great, except for one problem. I have no bass. Seems like all the bass has gone away. According to the pac wiring diagram there is high+ and a low+. I didn’t know what to do so I wired them together. I did that on all 4 speakers. I wired the + for the speaker on the alpine harness with the +high and +low on the pac. Also when I had the RCA output from the pac box hooked up it didn’t make a single difference in sound. Is this normal or did I F it up?

If I understand your post correctly.
Alpine LF Speaker + to Pac High+/Low+
Alpine RF Speaker + to Pac High+/Low+
Alpine LR Speaker + to Pac High+/Low+
Alpine RR Speaker + to Pac High+/Low+
Alpine LF,RF,LR,RR - to Pac -
The negitive side if fine. The alpine harness just has + while the pac harness has +high and +low. I wired the High/Low+ from the pac harness to the + on alpine harness and I have no bass. There is also a set of RCA's to plug into the HU. I assume they are for the front. It didnt matter if they were pluged in or not. I had no bass either way. I'm wondering if I should take out the +high or the +low and see what it does then. I know when you add a aftermarket HU to a C5 you lose the high's not the low's.
This might not have anything to do with your problem but when I installed my HU ihad no bass either. I used the soundgate interface. The bass would be gone if I used the Ipod or a cd but it would be ok on fm.
The same wire that sends a signal to raise the antenna aperently also turns on the amp. Thats what the guy at soundgate told me. Antenna would only go up if you are using FM on my HU.
ask greg, aka pentavolvo about this. He mentioned an adapter like this. Im just not going to use my door subs, hopefully i'll be fine with the 2 10s in the back
The issue is that your bose amps are not turning on. The bose amps run the larger set of speakers in the C5 doors.
Last time I wired up a PAC OEM to use an aftermarket HU to run the stock speakers I discovered that the wiring diagram supplied by PAC was incorrect. The problem was what they called the amp remote turn on wire was not correct. It was the power antenna wire.
I recall that there was bass with the radio on, but not with CD. I think it had something to do with when the radio is turned on, there is a signal being sent to the wire for the power antenna.
Get yourself a meter and see what wire has power when. I think you have the signal wires right, it is the power wires that could be wired incorectly.
Thanks for the info....I also got a email from PAC today...still need to read it, The installer also forgot to hook up my power antenna, I have no AM at all ......... I have a Z06 and normally they don't have a power antenna, but the previous owner added it.
Bret how is your sound ? I did get my Bose doors on, but the sound is really bad......... how do you have your gains set on the OEM pac ?
Any advice would be great....... i'm really upset about the sound quality I have now........... not sure what the installer did, but I don't like my current sound, and even with all the adjustments on my new Alpine HU, I just can't get the sysem to sound right.
I had much sharper bass with just my ARC sub and door tweedlers !

I'm still not happy with mine. I dont know what to do anymore. I might just get componets F/R and a 4channel amp. I just dont want to spend the money.
