Default Electrical Wiring Question

I am re-wiring my C5 for a new stereo/speaker system. In the door and the rear, can I just use basic electrical tape to wrap the wires for protection?

are you soldering the wires? if so i'd get shrink tubing, much cleaner and isnt all sticky I only use tape as a last resort.

If not soldering, wire caps and then tape. The tape will likely degrade due to heat from sun exposure.

i am going to have to say no on the wirecaps. butt-connectors are much better.

I am planning on soldering, so I will go with shrink tub, but in the doors, all the wires are wrapped with purplish tape completely. Do I have to do that for all the speaker wires I run to the doors?

Thats used to keep all the wires in a nice little harness for install. I use zip ties.. as far as the conection goes you want to solder everything and pull and tug when you are done make sure each and every connection is secure...Don't go with the thought that it's good enough...Make sure it is right before you move on this will save you a drama latter...ask me how I no????
