I'm looking for a Bose door speaker set to replace the ones in my 99 C5. I don't want to upgrade the whole system, I just want to replace the front speakers. Looking for quality speakers. Any help?
Hi, if you're looking for the stock ones, I'll have mine available next week. I have a 2001 Z06 and am replacing the front powered woofers and twiddlers. Also, FYI, the head unit is also coming out..
Basically you can replace the twiddlers (3.5") in the doors and the rear speakers without too much difficulty as they are basically 4 ohms and are driven by the headunit. The 8" woofers in the doors however have individual amplifiers at something goofy like 1.5 ohms that you cannot just drop a new speaker in and the amps are crap. Need an adaptor and an aftermarket amp to replace both speakers in the front if you do not want to replace the stock headunit.

i appreciate the advice... but i am just going to replace the OEM door woofer's with more OEM's, so it shouldn't mess with the impedence.
If you are in there I would replace the 3.5" at the top. It is a worthwhile sound improvement and it gives you a true tweeter in the system that the bose does not. Under a $100 investment. Infinity/Apline and a few others make drop in, almost plug and play speakers for the factory slot. Food for thought.
