Alright, i'm trying to decide on the components I want in my stereo. This will be my thread to get everyone's opinions on what I think I want heh. I actually have no clue. I've only decided on the sub amp and i got a couple of choices on subwoofers. I'm planning on having a monoblock amp for the subwoofer JL Audio 500/1 and i want another amp to power the 4 speakers (haven't decided on speakers or amp) Giving some thought to the JL Audio 300/4 amp for the 4 speakers. (opinions?) PLEASE give me some options on speakers, cause i dont even know what size/type i'm looking for. I definately want some quality speakers, and i don't have a problem with spending a couple hundred to get them.
I'm pretty sure i'm going with the JL Audio 500/1 amp for my subwoofer, which of these subs would be any good? Here's a couple i'm looking at:
Are any of these any good for the 500/1 amp? or do i not have a clue what i'm doing? heh. PLEASE help me out! I really wanna get my stuff ordered so I can get to work on it, i'm just not good at matching the parts so that they'll work efficiently together!
Thanks!

you cant go wrong with the jl 12w6 sub, jl's high end is really great. make sure that you figure out the mounting depth and what not. you may need to purchase or make a special box for it. (I think subthump will modify his box design)
for speakers, i'd look at some cdt 3 way components. that'll give you great midbass and make that sub's location transparent (i.e. you wont be able to localize where the sub's sound is coming from)
another option that i've been exploring is the elemental designs setups. they have great amps and speakers from all the reviews i've been reading. you can get thier 2 way components and ad a 6.5" midbass/sub (eu-700) in the doors. then you can get one of there subs and amps to round off the system. I've been even contemplating purchasing 4 of the eu-700's for some nice tight bass.
looking to drop around $500 for all 4 speakers (doors and rears) and want maybe 2k in the system, ie, sub, amp for sub, speakers, amp for speakers, head unit. I'm going to build a box for the subwoofer and an amp rack for the amps.
edit: what is the normal amount of watts put to one speaker? 50 watts or something? I had a 200watt amp on my 4 rockford fosgate speakers in my old trans am. Just trying to get an idea of what size/kind of multi- channel amp i need to be looking for.

Get a 10w6 and a 300/2 from JL, (and your 500/1) a subthump box to fit it, a set of JL or CDT 3 way components in your price range, HU of your choice, some plates and HU mount from vrumvrum and you are good to go. Wires from knuconceptz.

Do I only need 2 speakers for the door, and leave the rear speakers factory? Also, what sizes do I need to be looking for?
Cajun something is selling a bunch of brand new equipment for less than retail prices you might want to check his thread out in the forsale section.
I would probably guess that a 2 way system would fit your needs well. Get a nice set of 6.5" components (6.5" and tweet) for your doors and the other stuff I mentioned and you should be gtg.
Go audition some sets at an audio store before you decide with a CD that you KNOW WELL and a deck that is either the same you are buying OR of similar quality. Make sure the audio tweaking is off (bass and treble flat/at zero) and flip around a bit to see what you like. Make sure to convey to the audio guy what you plan on buying/running and to have him bypass all crossovers/external processors as well. You want headunit > amplifier > speakers. And the amplifier you choose of similar wattage. All speakers sound better with more power.
JL, Focal, CDT, Infinity, MB quart, DLS are all good brands ranging in price from $200 or so through to $1k. Listen and buy what YOU like.
