front speaker inclosure help please
does any one have pics of 5 1/4 inch speakers installed on the front enclosure for a 91 ?
i am in the process of dumping that dam bose crap and want a good idea of how to mount the 5 1/4 speakers in the front sill enclosure
i have been searching for quite a few hours now
if any one could post pics
or direct me in the right direction i would apriciate that

the EASIEST fix is to remove the stock Bose enclosure and strip it of it's contents.
Cut a piece of masonite or thin MDF/Plywood, et.al., to cover the face of the Bose enclosure. Then cut a circle in it to accept the speaker. Fit that hole so it lines up with the existing hole (may have to enlarge the hole on the Bose enclosure).
Seal the board to the enclosure with some RTV and screw it down tight. Seal the Bose port, too.
That should do it.

Bogus is the man when it comes to C4s, but I have one thing to add. Let the silicone dry for 24 hours before putting the speaker near the enclosure. I have heard the fumes from the silicone can have bad effects on the surrounds of speakers. I'm not positive on this but why take the chance
