I've read the FAQ and could not find this answer (or missed it).
It is advised, for cleaner sound, to run RCA directly to the amp. The wiring harness includes the wiring that leads to the factory speakers - is this needed if you are going to run RCA between the HU and the amp? (Keep in mind I do plan on running new wire)
It looks to me that I only need half the wires that are in the harness and can pull the others.
What else do I really need except ground, accessory power, power input??
Let me try and get this straight. I think we need more info. Do you have new speakers that are going to be powered by amps? If yes, then you dont need that harness. Also what headunit are you using, stock?, aftermarket. If aftermarket, then your headunit should have some RCA preouts that you just hook straight into your amp. If its your stock headunit, then you need the adapter that comes off the back of the stocker and gives you RCA pre outs through an interface such as a PAC interface.
To add to what DPG said I think to answer your question I personally used the blose to aftermarket adaptor for my HU install mainly to make the "other" connections easy, IE illumination etc. Not required but it is a couple less wires you have to look to splice, can just plug in and connect to the aftermarket HU with easily found and labeled wires. Worth the less than $10.
