So I am putting the car back together and notice the fader is now not working. No change to fronts when I set fader to 100% rear. I get a pop when I turn the HU on in the rear right speaker. Then no sound to both rears at all. Sub, fronts, amp and HU seem to be working fine. I did put the rears back into the enclosures tonight. All connections to the rears look ok and are soldered on. Could it be a fuse? I reset the HU. Any ideas? Thanks....
Haha I agree with Scott. We just post the most while at work so we get to answer all of the questions Many people are very knowledgeable here, it is one of the best forums I have been around no doubt.
i still can't figure this out. alpine powers the rears, amp powers the fronts. rears to hu rear speaker leads. this was working fine. a fuse maybe. fader does not change front or rear balance now. sub off amp. new wires to rear speakers, rca's hu to amp. not sure if speakers work. get a pop on turn on in rt rear. all i did was put rear spkrs into the speaker openings. fronts and sub and amp appear to work fine....a fuse maybe? Just wired up the rears to the amp and they work fine.....either wiring or the head unit I think...Any other ideas?
I checked every wire and connection again. Fader does not work and rears off hu do not work. Looks like I blew the hu and need to replace it. I have no idea what I did....pisses me off though....Any ideas?
I gave in and went to an audio installer. It was a blown rear speaker and the new wiring that I installed must have grounded on something. Replaced the rear speakers and wiring from the head unit and all is fixed. Finally.....now I need Focals
