I am installing my system and the problem is the RCS's behind the receiver are too big and I cannot push the unit in far enough. In the back there is some black plasti, but not sure what this is. Can I Dremel it out or is it something I need to leave alone.....THANKS!
Not sure about the plastic stuff ... is there another way to route them? I have 3 sets of Knuconceptz rca's behind my HU and made it fit, ran the wiring up on the side of the console on the passenger side in the back and up to the HU. I would try and mess with the routing before making cuts but thats just me. What HU? Mine is a single din in the vrumvrum mount if it matters.

alpine and vrumvrum mount...i tried exactly what you have done....i'll keep trying until it fits....i tried for almost 2 hours....even tried some smaller rca's with no luck....replaced an alpine with alpine so the harness was ok... i think ...thanks
You are probably going to have to twist yourself up in the interior there to get your hand both into the console and reach around to the back as well from the passenger side, was not too bad for me as I had the pass. seat out. Just make sure that the connections are good and solid before you button her up. G'luck bro. As was mentioned above the 90 degree adaptors might help to make it easier, but there is a not a lot of room back there between the metal framework and the back edge of the heater box or whatever else is back there.

Used 90 degree bends on the top rca connector....now on to the rest....i took the entire interior out....just easier....i'm sure i'll have more questions soon.. Thanks guys. Man this is harder than I thought. Probably will take me a few days.....my neck is already hurting!!
Do you have the HAVAC out this may help in seeing what is going on....
hvac was out...hu is in ,rca's, sub is in, power & grounds. Need to install fuses, speaker wires and put it all back together. probably another 2-3 nights this week...man my body is hurting...getting old. wife is out of town, so a few beers with the boys is in order.....
Is there a way to use the dimmer function on the head unit? I read somewhere that I can tap into a wire on the HVAC controller. Not sure which wire. Do I tap that and connect to the Alpine dimmer wire? Is there a dimmer wire on the head unit? Almost there…..Thanks
Tonight I wired all the speakers, played with the head unit fit, ran wires for the V1 and Ipod cable through the console, bolted the Subthump to the bottom of the compartment, put the battery back in, etc. Tomorrow I just need to connect the RCA's, power and ground to the amp and hopefully fire it up. I hope it works the first time without any major hiccups. I have already spent 15+ hours on this. Almost there....
I had to change my ground from 4g to 8g through a fuse....only way I could get it on the seat bolt...is this ok? it works fine. Overall I'm happy, but it is taking forever...without those guys i would not have even thought about this install.
scott & fej always get the credit buy name..he he he .......those guy's are good .........glad it all worked out.... good luck and enjoy..
i missed the ball on this one and still got credit
