I think everyone is taking what I wrote out of text.
The question was "to port or not to port" Then a few posts later the thread starter said he did not like the sound of sealed boxes and wanted the boom of a ported box. To me, that sounds like the thread starter had already made up his mind to go with a ported box. I would have been totally okay if the title was "how to get a ported box into my C4". My reaction was based on I wasted my time suggesting a sealed box (as many did) when the thread starter already knew he wanted a ported box.
When I start a tread such as "custom grilles" is because I wanted help to find a place that makes them, especially if some one has them. I would not do a tread like that if I already knew of a place
Once agian there are no stupid questions, only inexperinced people with the desire to learn. I deal with people on a daily basis that are srtaight out of boot camp, or new to my command that have lots of questions. Questions that I could interpet as stupid, or I could realize that they lack the experince or knowledge that I have.
So, at this point I have 2 options:
1: Belittle the person and make tham feel stupid or ignorant for not knowing the anwser.
2: Share my knowledge and perspective with them in the hopes that they will someday become knowledgable on the subject.
As a Junior NCO with a supervisory position in my workcenter, I am in charge of more Senior NCO's than Junior. Most of whom do not posses as much knowledge of the equpment that we work on as I do. Does that make them STUPID?
Or does that make me arrogant?
I agree with you 100%! (I was joking a bit above...)
I am behind option #2 all the time. And 99% of the time, that's exactly how I try to answer any question.
However, the problem is that certian people cannot do #2, so they do #1.
My point is thus - Stupid cannot help it, ignorant can do something about it.
My goal when dealing folks who ask me a question is to give them the best answer, or source of information where ignorance can be stamped out.
There is a fine line between knowledge and arrogance.... it takes a wise person, who has knowledge, to not use it as a weapon.
I dont believe I said I didnt like sealed boxes, but if it came across that way My Bad. I try to be more clear in future post. I was not refering to all sealed boxes, just the ones I have.
Someone suggested that maybe I have not matched the sub with the correct box. So we will start there.
And in the future I will try to be more clear in my post.
Looks like Bogus and Ian1992Red are on the same page...maybe just some wording was read out of context since you couldn't see or hear the expression behind it.
I'll agree with Knew that when I read the "To port or not to port" thread, I thought it should have been worded more along the lines of "Why should I go sealed" or "What is the best design, size, etc. for a ported box" I think the topic of the post was fine, just the title lead some people (including me) down the wrong path and maybe wasted a bit of time is all.
Now let's get this thread back to what it is really about... girls in bikini's!

THAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY FAVORITE PICTURE. I remember the first time you posted that. wasn't there some guy saying that she was ugly?
where have i been in this thread....i missed a few and its already on page 3 and there was a fight and everyone kissed and made up and now back to chicks n cars.... I need to pay better attention. Some people are just in a hast or dont think a question or answer all the way through before posting and some people take things too personally. The one thing ive noticed being here for the past few months is that, every one takes shots at eachother and its a fun section. Only thing you can take seriously here is.....hmmmmm.....not sure, maybe some one can help me out here. ok back to more chicks n cars
