IPod Charging
I have an Eclipse AVN 5500 with an IPod interface through the CD changer plug. With the ignition off and IPod connected, power is still being supplied to the IPod. The IPod is not is actually on but the display says charging or charged. My question is the following: Under this mode, is the IPod drawing enough current to be concerned about draining the car battery when leaving the IPod connected for several days at a time? Thanks in advance.

ive left my ipod connected for at least a week with no problems. They shut themselves down once they are fully charged. After a 24 hr period, I think the ipod will shut it itself off if there is no use. Meaning, when you power the ipod back on, it doesnt remember the last song you were on. Its a full power shut down, not sleep mode. And once its charged, it draws almost no power

Oh i forgot to mention also, that after about a week or so, my ipods backlight would turn on. That would be the only thing that turned on. So im not sure if yours will do that or not. Or if that drains any power. Try it out and keep an eye on it.
