Am planning on relocating the climate control to the bottom ash tray opening. Question I have is to do this I will be removing the bottom screw mount plastic bracket for the ash tray opening; this leaves only the screw mount on the left side of the console and the place where it locks in with the center (between the seats) console. How do you guys secure the dash console after mods? Velcro or other new screw mounting holes? Any pictures?
Thanks! Jim

hmm, never thought about velcro. the bezels just stay there. if you look right now, the factory fit isnt the best to begin with (a gap on the upper right hand corner that can be seen from the passenger side) I suspect that velcro would work nicely... maybe a dab of silicone up there too.
You're right about the gap on the upper right hand corner! I always thought mine was just a little off from the factory. At one time I had a cell phone mount that stuck out on the right side of the radio head unit, and originally thought that was the reason for the gap. I really think GM could have done a little bit better job on the console mounting.
Thx!
I did not have as much trouble with the bezel as I did with the softer pieces around it. I actually loosened the screws for the dash pad and adjusted it to eliminate a gap in the left top corner. I also had to use a piece of wire to "pull in" the piece that is right by the passengers knee.
I guy at work did a PC in his G35 .. he used hot glue to hold most of the dash together. So I guess Velcro is not a crazy idea
