I had a lot of emails, so here's the details on just the cover -
I used regular plywood 1/8" thick, covered with carpet from PepBoys. I stapled and used spray adhesive.
Resistor ~ assume 12.5 v, 40mA current MAX load ~300 Ohm resistor (1/4W)
LED only goes 1 WAY inline with +12V. Go to RadioShack and look at back of package. (Anode = longer leg goes to +)
Place resistor in Series with +12.5V line from AMP (or any +V source) BEFORE LED or else POOF. If you want a picture, I will draw it out.
Panel is sized to PRESS fit, so no fasteners. I would agree velcro may help.
Fan is critical to prevent amp overheating, again it sucks our out.
This is my first time reading the post.... I like it.... it looks way cool.... hides the amp and everything.... I think I'm gonna do that too... THANKS FOR THE ADVICE!!!!! :seeya :yesnod: :D
I hear ya about the amp COOKING :mad in the well area. If you ever say my setup, I have an amp setup where u have yours and one in the well. Needless to say.. if it's a 85+ degree day, the amp cooks in there. It's great to hide in there, but the way I play my music, which is extremely loud, I will need to relocate it somewhere else. And I mean my amp cooks like we could fry up some eggs, grits and bacon off of it  When I do relocate it, I might have my stereo guy build me sealed box for the 2 10's I have... the bass gets muddled because there isn't enough back pressure with all the air leaking out of the cover. I have the same setup u have with the cover except with 2 10's. Mine sounds good at low to medium, but at high volume.... the cones move WAY too much and I'm afraid of blowing the speakers.... again.
