I am installing a CDT CL-641 / 3-way speaker system in my C5 and they specify an amplifier with 230 watts RMS 4-channel and 4 ohms with a 100hz high pass. All of that said, any recommendation on a reliable rugged amplifier that fits the bill?
I'm sure others will chime in here. I am planning to get that exact component (CDT CL-641) and plan to use an Elemental Designs nine.2x amp. This will put out 200w RMS x 2 at the 4 ohm load of the CL-641.
you'll be very hard pressed to find many 4 chan amps at 100+ wrms. you're going to have to look into getting a 2 chan for the doors and a 2 or mono amp for the sub. check out the cdt line of amps as well. they guy who designed them has a great reputatioin among high end amps.

Mostly because the mfr. has to deal with companies that overrate their amps.
I promise you this amp can drive those effortlessly with incredible sound quality. http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=3745
I've audtioned a LOT of amps in the last 2 years and haven't heard one yet that is anywhere close to as clean as the Mc.
In fairness, I have yet to audition a few amps that cost considerably more. They also list very respectable specs, Brax etc., but I'm only vouching for what I've personally heard and listened to and I think they are an insane amp for the $.
