Just got my two Elemental Designs 11Kv.2 subs tonight.
I put one in the Vette and one in my truck. Both replaced 10" MTX 6000 series subs. The one in the Vette sounded better, much tighter and more controlled. The sub is in a .76 cubic foot sealed box. Note the airspace is less with the sub mounted. I know I am still on the large size of what ED recommends.
The one in the truck still sounds a bit restricted. Due to space constraints, the box is only .35 cubic foot before the sub is mounted. So I know I'm under the low limit ED recommends and plan to build a new box this weekend to get more airspace. Hopefully that will help out.
I think my next move is to upgrade the amps in both vehicles.
Thanks Greg...I was talking to a buddy last night and we discussed just that, putting in some wood to reduce the volume. I'm glad the box is that big because I can go to a 12" if I ever choose to.
I brought the Vette to work today and got even more listening time to the ED. Definitely better than the old sub.
