I have a red top Optima with dual posts and I have my positive cable on the top post for my stereo gear (with new terminal from Knuconceptz). I have not had time for my big 3 upgrade but will be adding my other terminal and using the top negative post for the ground improvements. Normal car connections are via factory terminals at the side post location.

If you are keeping the stock battery, but hooking up an amp to it, you can use a part by Stinger of AAMP of America called a SGMBatt. It is a battery post adapter that allows you to hook up your amp power cable to it. Is this what you are needing? It will work with any sidemount post battery as well...
The battery I have in there has two top posts. The wire connectors you see there just clamp onto them. Looks like the same thing with the Optima in the post above yours.
That is a difference with the '04 C5, they changed the battery cables. This is why I'm asking the question. My '04 has battery cables that attach to the top posts. I'm trying to figure out how to connect the audio cables without changing my battery. If my battery was going south, I'd replace it with an optima and put the cables on the top posts and the audio on the side terminals.
okay...here are some pictures of the connections to my '04 Coupe.
and a close-up of the terminal...
See...this is my dilemma. They are not regular terminals by any stretch of the imagination! Obviously if I replace the battery for say an Optima with both top and side terminals I have it made. I don't know how to fix what I have without cutting the ends off and changing the terminals.

If you take the end of the terminal where the wire comes in and straighten it out you should be good to go......I had to cute mying off.
Two things please don't make fun of the dust and I no the screw on the + side is not stainless. (yet)
