I need some help tuning a stereo system. Its not real big as most have its a Sony head unit Alpine componets in door a 10in sub in the rear and 1400w amp. Where can I get some help setting it up?
Thanks Dave I may take you up on that I have a 2000 Nausa Blue FRC that Im redoing just got the motor back together and started today. So now that was done Im finishing up the stereo took the Bose out when the motor was apart. I have never had to move the jumpers in the door cross overs and set the amp before so looking for someone that knows more then me. That would be eveeryone
No problem...just give me a holler when you need help. I will be in Springfield tomorrow for the Central IL Corvette club meeting (held at Friendly's). You don't happen to go to those meetings do you?
I have only added a sub to my Vette. I am working on installing components in my truck right now (just took a break). This will be my first set of components and have left the jumper at 0 dB for the time being. I'll adjust it to taste later.
You are going to have a wicked car....Nausa Blue...hot motor...good stereo
Just remembered...you might want to see about joining us in a couple weeks for the midwest Vette audio gathering. There is a post I started that should be floating around here. Anyways, there will be some amazing cars there and some knowledgable people.
I think Greg (Pentavolvo) might be bringing some tuning equipment (or at least his ears) That could be a good time to learn some things. I don't know if your Vette will be ready, but certainly feel free to join up even without a Vette.
I am in the NW chicago suburbs and am willing to help all. I am by no means a pro tuner but I think I have it down pretty good. I really just use a few CDs I know well and go to town on the EQ and make suggestions.
Using good CD's (and CD's you know well) really is the best way to go. Tuning equipment can make quick work of getting a system's components matched up, but ultimately you want the system sounding good to your ears.
Greg has done many installs. He'd be a good resource for ya.
Thanks for the props Dave. Feel free to PM me with any questions etc, id love to help you with ur install either in person or via phone etc. The vette is easier to do then many think
