Default Need a passive crossover (I think).

My Infinity Kappa 6.5" mid-range and tweeters are fed off of the same channel.

I took these specs right from the manuals they cam with. I contacted Infinity asking them what to use, but they have so far given me no response. Any ideas? This would be for post-amp.

Code:
                   Tweets Mids
Freq Response 8kHz ~ 22kHz 40Hz ~ 2.5kHz
Sensitivity	89Hz @ 2.83V, 1 watt	89Hz @ 2.83 V
Crossover Freq 8000Hz ???
Speaker Impedence 4 ohms 4 ohms
Power Handling 50W per channel 100W RMS
                   w/o crossover

Specs seem mismatched to me. Mids cutting off at 2.5k hz and tweets recommended at 8khz don't work well in combination. Seems awful high on the tweets and most cone type midranges will not play well much above 5k ... just can't play that fast.

Are they speakers that you pieced together from other sets or did you buy them together? If you bought them together they should have included a passive crossover that handles the low pass point of the midrange (usually about 3.5k hz) and the high pass of the tweeter (usually around the same 3.5k hz)

Grab some more info for us like model numbers etc nad maybe we can help but together those speakers look as though they were not meant to work together.

Tweeters in dash: Infinity Kappa 10.1t
Mid-Range in doors: Infinity Kappa 65.1mb
6x9s in the hatch: Infinity Kappa 693.5i

They were peiced together. Now that I think about it there may be a crossover for the tweeters in the wires they came with. I remember there being a cylinder shaped bulge in there. None for the mids though.

I would look around for a nice passive 2 way crossover for peace of mind (from a component set) you can find them on ebay etc pretty easily and the large parts places have them as well. Names like Focal, JL audio, MB quart, Morel, Dynaudio will all have high quality components in them and most will cut your midrange off (low pass) and high pass your tweeter at around 3.5k hz.

You would then have to use either an amp crossover, or HU built in crossover or some other external (likely active {powered} ) crossover to high pass your midrange speakers to protect them some. You could also just be careful with the volume and the bass boost and let them run free all depends on what and how loud you listen to your system.
