Stereo Dilemma
I am thinking about what kind of system to run in my 1988 coupe. I am almost 100% certain that it has the bose system. The speaker covers all say Delco Bose on them. I know that the stock bose amps will not work with aftermarket speakers because they have a 1 ohm impedence. My main question is how I can get to the drivers side amp...Does the entire door panel have to be removed? 3 of my speakers work but the drivers side amp is busted I suspect.
Also, if I were to replace that amp and have all 4 speakers running properly...could I put an aftermarket head unit on and run a single 12" sub in a custom box in the trunk? Has anyone tried running a sub with stock speakers? Do you think the sound quality would be good?
Thanks in advance for any comments...
if it was me,I would trash the entire system. I hate bose... and adding bass will only make you realize what else you are missing, audio wise.
as for taking these thigns apart, it's ugly. I hope to have some instructions shortly.
it does require taking the door apart. sorry.
