I just finished installing a XM Commander. I had to run to this forum two different times to look up information. Thanks to everyone who post How-To's.

The ash tray is still accessible. I wanted to be able to put everything back to stock later, so I fabricated a new ash tray door out of plexiglass to mount the commander in.

Plexi? that looks like carbon fiber... don't get me wrong, it looks great and still functions too!! Great job!!!

I got a sheet of carbon fiber vinyl off of Ebay and covered the plexi. I was going to paint it black but I wanted to try something a little more flashy
