Default Radar detectors....

I am sure nobody on this forum participates in any method of motor vehicle operation that is not in full compliance with legal guidelines, nor should they.

However, if one were to install a radar detector on a C6, perhaps to detect radar at the track......... or to detect the possibility of vehicles on the roadside ahead so as to be extra cautious and safe when approaching at the legal speed limit.......

What kind of radar detector would you suggest that works best while remaining inconspicuous and keeping unruley wires from running all over the dash???

I am certainly offering a minority opinion by recommending Solo S2 cordless. I have tried numerous detectors, but not the Valentine 1, which is highly recommended by forum members. While the V1 probably provides the best protection, I am satisfied with the S2 for the following reasons: 1. Cordless. 2. VERY few false alarms. 3. Fairly loud initial alarm, which then lowers after a few seconds. 4. Cordless. 5. Cordless.

And it is reliable. It gives me adequate warning in most cases.

V1 plus invisicord. Great lakes visor mound optional (i like mine but others report they're just as happy using the V1's suction cup mount as high up on the windshield as possible).

ooops. Sorry. Sounds as if I may have brought up a source of very differing perspectives.....and old debates. I forgot to search for old threads first. I am still new to the forum. Again, sorry.:o

I just got a K40 installed. Completely stealth can't see any components of the system just a remote. Way better then any dash board radar I've had. Especially since you have one sensor mounted behind your grill and one behind your rear bumper.

IBTM Bet this gets moved to the Audio/Electronics thread.

That being said, I have the Bel RX-65 Pro mounted using the Valentine Visor mount from Great Lakes (use Dremel tool to grind a little off the edge of the mount) and the Invisicord. This setup works for me.

For anyone who is thinking about the Bel, there was a rebate that could be obtained by trading in your old detector but I am not sure if that is still in effect.
