How is this for a C5 system?
1. IVA-W200 Alpine H/U w/XM no NAV (I have a Magellan 700 that is great)
2. JL Audio Stealthbox
3. JL Audio 500/5 slash series AMP (forgot to mention, I already have the amp that is why I am sticking with it)
4. JL Audio XR525CXi Coaxials for rear speakers
5. JL Audio XR653CSi 3-way Components for the front
Is there any benefit for going 3-way up front than just a good two way system? I heard the MOREL speakers and they were awesome, but just too expensive....$1200 for a 2way component.
Can someone give me an estimate on what this would cost to install if I were to take it to a sound shop? (SOCAL...to include LA area)
Also, does anyone have a hard install of the Magellan 700 series...please show pics, thanks.

Stealthboxes are overpriced and don't really give me enough thump (I'm more in the W6/W7 category) For some folks, they're ok. If anything, they're convenient.
The 500/5 is a weird amp...it does alright in my mom's Maxima, but I wish the rear channels had just a little more power (hooked up to 130CV1 Focals) In a Corvette though, you don't really need the rear speakers at all. I have rears just because I'm running 5.1, otherwise, I'd just delete them.
I like JL amps, I like JL W6/W7 subs, I don't really like their speakers. I'd pick Focal over them any day.
Basically, I'd recommend, trying not to deviate too much from your first choices:
1. Alpine IVA-W200
2. JL Audio 12W6v2
3. Custom box or NCR Dave box http://www.corvettecaraudio.com/
4. JL Audio 300/2 and 500/1
5. Focal 165V3E (3 way) $750 or 165KBE + 100 KP (3 way) $1300 *That's full MSRP, it shouldn't be that expensive, or find a better deal at another shop.
That gets you a screen, damn good sub, damn good power, and 3 way components up front. Custom work of course would be making Double DIN fit in 1.5 DIN spot, tweeters in the A pillars, amp rack, and sub box.
I know Focal is making their own amps now too. They're high quality, but I don't know pricing. More of a sound quality amp than ballsy from what I understand.
Chris
I just built one for another fellow CF member for his 12W6V2, and he loves it!! If you need one, I would be happy to get it built and shipped out in the next day or so... email me or pm me if you have any other questions... I am here to help!!
IVA-W200
Alpine PXA-H701
JL 500/5
Dayton Reference RS225 8" mids
Dayton Reference RS28 Tweeters
JL W3 or W6 12" in custom box (see above posts)
The dayton drivers are really nicely built. The mids have copper shortening rings in the motors and aluminum baskets. They have great low distortion performance and will rock the midbass. They will play well up to 1400hz or so which is OK since the large format Dayton tweeters can play down low enough to meet them.
Run them active off of the H701 and you will have all the time alignment, eq and crossover settings you will ever need. You can control all of this from the W200 and you will have a digital signal back to the H701 which will eliminate most of your noise problems that might stem from long rca runs.
Tweets of the rear channels (25w is plenty) and mids of the fronts (100W). The 8's will keep plenty of bass up front and with a low playing tweeter you won't have to worry about their size so much. If you want to upgrade to 3-way later there are plenty of awesome 3-4" mids or 2" dome mids that would integrate nicely. Just add another amp and go. With a fully active system you can change anything you want, whenever you want... speakers, crossover points & slopes, individual speaker time alignment, infinite level adjustement per speaker, etc...
Besides, the dayton drivers will total less than $200 which might save you enought to buy the H701 vs. retail boxed components.
Oh yeah... if you really want rear fill, then just run if off of the headunit power. But with a nice speaker set up front I don't think you'll need them.
