want to replace stereo system, need ideas

Have a 2000 vert. No CD changer in trunk. Want to upgrade whole system or part of it. is there a better cd changer other than factory? A good MP3 player out there? Better speakers? Do not want to mess up electrical system in ANY way. Been there, done it on my 85. TOO much power on that baby. Any ideas out there for replacing or adding more to make system sound better, and not mod the car too much.

No real suggestions to offer you other than to try and find something with speed sensing auto volume like the stock unit has. That's one feature that comes in real handy in a vert and one of the reasons I opted to leave the stock HU in place for now and just added my iPod to the mix. Good luck.
