Default Audio question

I read all the posts, etc in audio on this. I am replacing the Bose with a Kenwood receiver and speakers. The problem comes in with references to Red and Yellow wires when eliminating the factory receiver. There is NO Red and Yellow wire in or out of my receiver. I am looking to find out what is up here? If I look at the factory wiring diagram from the service manual, it also does not have a Red and Yellow. Also, there are 2 blue wires, which one is the antenna? As described in the audio stuff, there is a bit of a mismatch here. I really do not want to test everything, since it was already a pain to run the speaker wires and replace the speakers . Any help appreciated....

Within the C4 Audio FAQ is a link to a wiring diagram for GM stereos... that should have the answer you need.

I hope that you are replacing the entire system. Head unit, wires and speakers. I installed an Alpine unit with an adaptor to use the Bose speakers and it sucks bigtime. I'm not a Kenwood fan, but that's because they make such crappy home stereos. I hope that the car stereos are better.

Default Aftermarket Installation

The red and Yellow wires you are looking for are not plugged into the stock Bose head unit. They're in one of the power harnesses that's plugged into the stock Bose amp (which you need to bypass in your aftermarket install).
Depending on the year of your car, it is either located up under the passenger side of the dash (a PITA to get to, but do-able) or under the bin storage area behind the passenger seat.

Thanks for the inputs. I got the wiring diagram stuff from the Audio section, and it will work out fine. Not a big problem to get to anything since entire interior was out for speakers and a heater core replace.
