Boston Acoustic question
I have 2 old sets 841s and 851s. I am using the 5.25 from the 851s, and the 4" and tweet from the 841s they sound great, but the tweeter and 4" are down in the frame rail. I plan to move the 4" to the door (1991 vette interior) and the tweeter up to a location at the top of the door ( like Bogus' set-up)
the Tweeters however have a big foot print 2" x3". they were marketed as varimount tweets. I want to replace them with something smaller, I assume any tweeters will work, correct?

Any tweeter will *work* sure.. the question is how it will sound with the other speakers. If you're going to buy a separate tweet I recommend at least buying the same brand. Very subjective and may not matter to you.

yup very subjective. some people do go with different tweets for this reason. they like the speakers, but think that the tweets are too harsh, so they swap those out. or some tweets being too warm, or whatever the case may be. its the tweets i think that are the most subjective to ones opinion. i say swap it out with somethign you like or fits
