Have a 2000 vert, no cd changer in back. Can buy new for like 560.00 or I quess a used one that someone has removed to upgrade. Wanted to ask you guys if this a good unit. They make two kinds, The Delco electronics unit and the pioneer delco unit. Both are same I believe. Any one know why there are 2 different faces on changer. They say pioneer made them for delco. Do some vettes have the pioneer magizine and some just say delco. Does it matter which one I get. Used they are about 240.00, gotta buy the cable and that is it.
anyone with a c5 can they check out the face plate on the cd changer. It will either say Delco or just 12 dic changer (pioneer model). Thanks do not want to make any mistakes.
Basically, they are the same. The ones with Delco on the front are from earlier models, but I don't recall what year they took Delco label off the front. My 2001 does not have "Delco" on the front.
My personal observation (which is known to be often wrong) is that Pioneer continued to make some improvements as the years went on. The one I noticed the most is that the newer ones were less prone to skipping over small bumps in the road. They also seemed to play home recorded CDs better.
holly cow! $560!!!! you ever consider going the ipod route?
Yes I did
Do they work O.K. with a 2000 Vette. A used cd changer is about 230.oo
What type of ipod do you get and how to connect it without it looking out of place?

The 12-disc cartridges are the same for both.[/QUOTE
Thanks, I would think Pioneer would be a better unit. Delco is well, Delco. Would love to redo the whole stereo but do not want any electrical problems or crappy looking mods. Been there on last 85 vette with 4K in stereo and video. Drained tooo much energy from the car in the HOT summers here in Vegas. Nice system though.

pretty much any ipod with the doc connector will work (aka all full sized ipods) then you need the ipod2car adaptor and you could just hide it away in your glove box. or possibly in the center arm rest. (i'd make sure it was insulated so it doesn't get too hot and ruin your ipod) you could also just plop it in your cup holder (could possibly make a dock for it that will be hidden when the cover was closed)
